We have met regularly over the years – I don’t remember how long, we were started by one of the original g.o.d members Barbara who is long since dead. The meetings are about twice a month and we talk, eat cake and discuss topics: these are picked by each of us in turn. We are not a large or highly active group in terms of getting speakers or going out to places but we enjoy each other’s company. Because I use a wheelchair, we meet in accessible places. That restricts us and I opt for them to cone to my house. If our meeting day is warm and sunny … oh those were the days, then we meet in Hilary’s garden which is a delight. My favourite meeting this year was just such a day – balmy and blue and the blackbirds sang from the trees in the park and we all ate cake and drank tea and talked.
