When you join growing old disgracefully you can:

• Attend local group meetings (they are usually held once a month)
• Join the email group or the penfriends group
• Go to regional and national events
• Receive the newsletter
• Get access to the members' section of this website

Who can join?

There is no lower age limit. You are never too young, or too old, to start growing old disgracefully!

We welcome women from all backgrounds and ask that our members are inclusive and supportive of each other.

Most of our members are in the UK but there are members in Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand too.

You can go to your local group up to three times to see if it's right for you before joining. Click here to see if there's a group near you.

How much is it?

Membership costs just £17.50 a year, £8.75 if you join after 30th June, and if you join after 30th September £17.50 takes you to the end of the next calendar year. All the money goes to services for members, such as the newsletter, which is sent electronically each quarter, and this website.

If you would like to receive paper copies of the newsletter membership costs £25 a year, £12.50 if you join after 30th June, and if you join after 30th September £25 takes you to the end of the next calendar year. The extra money goes toward covering the the cost of printing and postage of the newsletter.

Events cost extra but there is a confidential bursary fund to help those who may need it.
